In today’s world of technology, most of us are glued to the screens either for work or entertainment. We have adapted to the desk-bound lifestyle and as the days turn into years it starts to take a toll on our flexibility and overall health and makes us more prone to injuries.

So, here are 5 yoga poses and their benefits to jumpstart your yoga practice and integrate it into your daily life.

Remember to take it slow.

Quality over quantity. You can gradually add various other poses as you may deem fit after consulting with your physician if you are out of shape or have serious health problems.

1. Easy pose (Sukhasana)

Relieves back pain

Stretches the knees

Stretches the ankle

Relaxes the hip, groin, and outer thigh muscles

Duration: 1 to 5 minutes depending on the individual

2. Child pose (Balasana)

3. Cat cow poses (Marjaryasana)

4. Mountain pose (Tadasana)

Strengthens the thigh, knees, ankles, abdomen, and buttocks

5. Tree pose (Vrikshasana)

Improves balance and stability

Strengthens and increases the firmness of the standing leg

Therefore, doing these stretches will help you start your day with positivity and productivity. Yoga is packed with benefits. It also enhances mental fortitude and gives you a sense of calm which helps in the stressful moments of your day. A 10–15 minute routine every day and you will start noticing the results and realize the benefits at an exponential rate. However, patience is key.
